CLUTTERED ROOM, CLUTTERED MIND

Hey Guys! Whatsup?!

So Thankfully the weather has been getting warmer and it really feels like summer outside. As most of you know, I'm not from New York but I do live here now. Here in NY in order for it to be cool in your house, you need to install an AC. Yea, the ones that stick out the windows and look like they're about to fall out.

Just last night, my husband and I got home from a long hot day. We entered our home and it was so stuffy, dry, and dusty. Welcome to NYC I thought. There was such a mess piled up from the week already that everything just seemed upside down. And the heat surely didn't help the situation.

So, we decided to do something about it. There was no way we were going to sleep, eat or do anything without the AC. So as late as it was, we went out and got one. It was super big and heavy, and luckily someone helped us up the stairs with it. Once near the window, we tore it apart. Paper, plastic and styrofoam went flying everywhere adding to our pile of dirty laundry.

Let's just say everything was a mess. We were both feeling frustrated from the heat, and determined to get the AC up by that hour. I told myself that I wouldn't go to sleep until the entire house was cleaned.

And so, we began installing the AC by opening the window just the right amount and closing it right back onto the AC tightly so as for it not to fall out the window. You know those moments when you're laughing and crying? Well, that's what happened.

Finally it was installed, the air on full blast as we gave our house a complete makeover deep cleaning. Swept, mopped, dusted, sprayed the windows, glass and mirrors, air freshened the place, and allowed the air to circulate around the apartment to give it a fresh feel.

Then, both took cold showers, came out as new people looking at a new home. A home that felt new, bright, and prick clean. It was such a great feeling, you must experience it. If you ever feel gross, sad, confused- just not yourself, Maybe it's because you're filled with too much "spam". Take some time to do a "cleanup" on yourself, and in the environment you are in. You will feel that much better, I promise. Mental health first.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe once said, messy room= messy mind. So just do a little cleanup from time to time. It's healthy to renew yourself. :)
